I am in my last year of dentistry at the Universidad de Chile. I am doing my undergraduate thesis on bacterial invasion in periodontal tissue, using a mouse model of periodontitis. After obtaining a scholarship, I applied to come to Eduardo Villablanca’s laboratory for a 6-month internship, as I am interested in pursuing a career in mucosal immunology of the gastrointestinal tract. In particular, I am working on Gustavo Monasterio’s project (PostDoc), where I hope to learn more about the interactions between oral and intestinal inflammatory diseases.
