doctoral student

Following my Master degree in Medical Science at Uppsala University with a focus in Molecular Medicine, I joined the Villablanca lab at the Karolinska Institute in 2015 as a research assistant. Fascinated by the complex host-dynamics interactions that maintain intestinal homeostasis I became a doctoral student in 2017, supervised by Eduardo J. Villablanca. I am currently studying how environmental factors modulate immune responses in the intestine and how their interaction with genetic susceptibility might lead to IBD. I am examining the impact of this interaction in zebrafish and mouse models of intestinal inflammation.
