It has been suggested that environmental factors are associated with industrialization and globalization. My master’s thesis aims at elucidating the impacts of PFAS and relevant dietary-activated nuclear receptors on the regenerative potential of intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) after damage using zebrafish. Methodologically, we use fluorescence microscopy and RT-qPCR to visualize and further quantify the prominent regeneration ability of gastrointestinal epithelium in zebrafish.
